Today was that game.
It was just one of those games where everything just clicks together and .
On a round of Yehorivka RAAS v1 playing as the US vs RUS and I was playing HAT. We started off slow with the slow capture of points towards the centre of the map, our Vics dealing with their Vics. We ended up fighting from Quarry (where we knocked out a BMP at the start of the game), through Lower Mogilyovo and then onto East Mogilyovo.
The teamwork dream started where our squad was given a lift from Quarry to the south side of Lower Mogil by a Bradley IFV which stuck around to give us fire support as we pushed onto the objective. The team smoked up and we hit them hard but to repelled the first time. We re-grouped on the rally and went in again with mortar support laying down smoke cover as we advanced. I ended up lagging behind to help track and blow out the engine on a enemy T-72, immobilising it and then radioed in our M1A2 Abrams to finish the job which then stuck around to help seal the deal.
I got knocked out as I nailed the engine on the T-72 when @heliman96 came to the rescue and got me on my feet. A local medic patched me up and we went on an impromptu flank to block the enemy HAB and proceeded, with some excellent teamwork, to block their spawn until such a time that another squad to come and reinforce our position, bandaging each other when either of us was out of bandages. And all this wrapped up in time for a friendly Blackhawk to swoop in to drop supplies and a radio.
The game slowed down a bit after that, clearing out the enemy as they attempted a counter attack from the east of Lower Mogil and then returning to repel an almost success attack from the south to save the HAB but the teamwork in the main part of the game helped secure us the victory.
The feeling when you are running down a ditch, MG and IFV firing over your heads covering the attack, smoke appearing from all angles to conceal us, friendly Blackhawks buzzing the settlement giving us intel on the positions was just fantastic.
I have a handful of games in my 930 odd hours in Squad that I recall when explaining why I play and this game today has made it onto that exclusive list.
