Considering the fact that Dice has been making BF since 2002 (BF1942) it makes my blood boil that they have made such a disaster of BF5.

There's folks will probably disagree with my opinion, but IMHO I think DICE totally misjudged the PC gaming community when they decided to play the PC the same way as consoles, with them controlling the servers. They really didnt think it through at all. PC gamers and their clans / communities took pride in their servers and adminned them well, keeping cheaters and dubious players at bay; keeping teams balanced; keeping the server ticking over and encouraging fair play.

When the admin was taken away, well.... we seen how that turned out. Imbalance, no ability to even vote a player off, never mind kick them, as for reporting them - well that seemed to have no effect whatsover, and so we have what could have been a great game utterly ruined.

Give BF5 the injection it needs, right now - give it new maps; team balance; total admin control including kicking and banning dubious players from the server; give back everything they took off the gaming community, and they might just save it at the last minute. Without that, it's a pile of cack.

Sorry for my rant, but I remember the time when I played BF and enjoyed it, and came off every night laughing and having had a good time. Those days, sadly, are gone. The crack with EBS is good, but sadly the game is left lacking.

Many here feel the same way and similarly strongly about it too. Our own server was what built this community.

BFV is a good game but it certainly has a vast array of issues. Namely, a lack of maps and lots of hackers and cheaters. Another issue (although I don't think this is EA's or Dice's fault) is the lack of statistics available online.

We need our own server and a proper admin tool such as PRocon. The tools in BF1 were awful (and that's if they worked)!

Yes Ov3rz34l0u5, with the last big gaming group I was in, admins took it in turns to do admin - worked out about 1 night in about 12; I'm sure your group probably worked something similiar; as one of the initial three Senior Admins I was always overseeing the admin :? and helping whoever was adminning on any particular night, with Procon running in the background. Despite what any of the whingers might say, a good community running fair servers properly adminned attracted repeat gamers, and potential new recruits. Wish those days were back again. Maybe bring a bit of fun back into the game - it's well overdue.

Our BF1 server had been favourited about 2,000 times. I don't know how many favourited our BF4 server.

Update is available. Please note, it takes a good while for it to prepare (well it did for me anyway). After that has finished, you'll get a message saying that there isn't enough storage space. Repair the game, and after that has finished, the download will start.

As it takes so long to prepare Dice's advice is that if you have a fast connection delete the game and reinstall it....I swear you can't make this shit up.
