If you have input the correct code that was on your previous pc then it should automatically activate unless it's because you have changed the mobo and
Windows is recognised it as a new system but I doubt it, Microsoft can be real arseholes when reactivating windows, I have just bought a new pc with windows preinstalled, followed all Microsoft's instructions and guess what? The administrator for my shiny new pc is my bloody phone , that's who Microsoft activated it with, so after several long online help chats it still took 28days for them to reset the administrator to me, dickheads.

You have to speak to people (yuk) but it usually works. But yeah if you changed mobo it probably means you need a new key. I'd try that first. You might get away with it if you explain.
