Graphics card help fro BF V
Hi All,
I am currently playing BF V on a Nvidia GTX 1050TI 4GB. All settings are on low or turned off. I have even changed my monitor display to less than 1080p. This has helped, but I still have frame rate issues and they normally happen when I am trying to shoot someone.
With this in mind, I am looking to upgrade my GPU. I have been reviewing the GTX1060 6GB, GTX1070 and AMD RX580 8GB. The problem is, my budget only runs to £250, which basically kills off my hope of getting the 1070
So, does anyone have any ideas on which card to choose and the best place to get it from. I have tried Amazon, Scan, Crucial and local stores.
My base specs are:
Windows 10 Pro
AMD RYZEN 5 1600 six core @ 3.49ghz
16GB RAM
Samsung 850 EVO SSD
27" AOC AGON monitor
Thanks

why are you changing your graphic card in the first place? apart from your cpu (which is newer than mine) your running practically my exact setup ,I am also using a 32in full dh tv as well, and I have no problems at all with bfv, I am not running on ultra settings as I don't stand and admire the petals on each and every flower, but they are not on low or medium either.Hutch1603 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 29, 2018 9:51 am Hi All,

1. Try putting the energy settings on maximum performance (on windows) that causes the processor to be on the higher frequency instead of jumping trough the lower and the higher
2. Go to nvidia control panel, put the energy profile on maximum performance too, that is done on the 3d settings
3. If your mainboard have performance profiles on the bios, set it to high performance
4. Monitor your temps, you can use HWInfo for that, if the temps are too high some proccesors force the frequencies to go down, same could be for the GPU
5. Disable your AV while you play, AVs sometimes go crazy.
6. Update drivers
7. You can give it a pass of ADWCleaner, its a tool that MalwareBytes bought to a guy, basically has a big database of more common malwares, adwares and spywares and does a quick check to the paths were those bugs live on your computer, if you want do an scan only and send me an screenshot of the result.

I'm trying to remember what caused my throttling when BF4 first started. It was a nightmare and for no reason. I think it was the PSU believe it or not. Also, am I the only one thinking 16gb RAM isn't a lot?
Always do the cheap stuff first. If that doesn't cure it, THEN look at the expensive stuff.

How many screens do you have?

First try to do some troubleshooting, looking at user benchmarks of the 1050ti in BFV you should be getting around 50 fps @1080p on medium/high settings. You should be able to get it running decently on that card.
One thing i noticed is that turning down graphics doesn't make a huge deal of difference, at least not between low-high.
If you do decide to upgrade, go look at the second hand market. You can find 1070s for under 275 euros. I don't suppose its much different in the UK.
I bought my 1080TI second hand as well, saved around 250 euros compared to stores. Runs perfectly and still has 1,5 years of factory guarantee on it.

I've got a very similar set up to you and I have a 1060 6Gb which runs games on ultra with no real problems at all. As for places to look try Novatech as well as they've got some on sale at the moment.

I've got the 1060 3BG and BFV runs fine for me.
Re: Graphics card help fro BF V
Thanks for all the suggestions everyone. I will start looking at implementing the above this week. I will come back and let you know what happens.
PS I only use a single monitor attached via the display port.
