Re: Chasing that perfect game
It has been nice to see EBS squaddies getting back into game after 1-2 break. Amazing to see how much talent there still is for this game within EBS. 5-6 of us can really make a difference and swing the war in favour of the team we are on.
Great fun
Thanks for the good games

Re: Chasing that perfect game
I was amazed when I read about the folks behind Squad. They were a group of 14 developers that set up offworld industries in Canada in 2015. Squad has sold 3 million copies since its release. At an average price of $35 that means they turned over $100 million. Ok Steam charges 30% commission on any game sold their so Valve/Steam made $30 million as a distributor/reseller. But still offworld industries had a turnover of $70 million, not too bad for a small indie game. Offworld industries now employ 120 people so their overheads will be huge ($8-10 million a year) so naturally since their other games were not a commercial success (post scriptum, Beyond the wire) they have run low on cash and have had to ask ten cent for some investment. Lets not forget they also make $10-20 per month on licensing fees from each of the 1000 servers across the world. Still it does make you think how can their still be this many bugs in a game 8 years down the road with that sort of money invested. I guess some fat cats spend a bit too much in the Bahamas and didnt leave enough for the developers to properly finish the game. Hey I can't complain I am nearing 4000 hours so pretty good investment for £30 or about £0.0075 per hour.
