M16 silenced, lazer, 1x kobra, underslung GL
30 round pistol, lazer, compensator for making noise in conjunction with "taunt" to attract enemy as required.
RPG. Dont' forget to load the extra round before you leave the resupply point!
C4 baby, yeah!
AT mine.

Max carnage. All I need to do now is learn to better judge the trajectory of the GL and I'll be laughing.
You've got the wrong scope (1.5x ftw) but otherwise I approve. May many pht-pht-pht's land cleanly upon your enemies' centre mass.

I have also started using the 1.5x. I find the 2x a bit much for CQB but the 1x not enough for the more open areas... 1.5 is a good middle-ground :)

started to try the 1.5 scope also
and tbh, using it with the G3 on the obs kit works quite fine
still not sure if i like it on the PKM as a gunner

I prefer 4x on the LMG, using the laser for anything too close.

after using the 1.5 scope for a while today on the pkm i guess it is worth to keep on going with it for some more days since my learning curve is quite low. so my favorised scope for about the next 50 hrs or so on Sandstorm will be that scope.
It feels that is is able to aim faster than the Kobra 2x and also the Kobra 1x on the PKM but i might be wrong

I get demolitions or breacher

the weapons are the versatile AKM, shotgun or the smaller mp5 + P940 both silenced + 1RPG for breaching, 1RPG for the car on defense + 2 fire grenades to block entrances
AKM:
It has magazine size between the m16's and the FAL, so 2 shot kills or 1 to the head.
Silencer - Because by game programming the bots can hear you better even walking if you don't have a silencer
Extended mag - (NOT DRUM MAG) Has enough bullets to stop a wave of attacking bots while maintaining the reload speed
Handle - For the recoil
Ironsights FTW or kobra if I get the mp5

PF940:
Extended mag
Silencer
Fast carry

If I use any weapon with scope I get any 4x scope to snipe from far and use the PF940 on CQB

For a couple of months, I loved the SVD with 2x red dot/suppressor. Laser accuracy and 1-shot kills on most targets.

Lately, I prefer to play the observer role. Sticking closely to the commander (no matter how much I disagree with their strategy).
As an observer, I prefer the M4/ 2x red dot/suppressor and drum mag and laser sights. I personally prefer the larger optics of the red dot sights. They don't obscure my periphery vision and the laser sight works well enough in CQB.

I always toggle "single" rate of fire because I like the improved control and tap as quickly as I need. The M4 offers good handling and fast successive 1-tap headshots are the goal.

I've run into enough "last man standing" situations that I usually equip incendiary cans to lock down flanks on the obj--either way, there are usually dozens of grenades rolling on the ground of every type. :)

I have made a few changes to my go-to gear. I was doing a bit of experimenting with the weight system, still need to look into it a bit more but it seems to work on a tier system instead of being linear. Each tier has its own fixed parameters for movement speed, acceleration and ADS speed. So from 0-33% weight is 'light', 34-75% is 'medium' and above this is 'heavy' (numbers I got from the NWI survey, not sure if they are exact) I think it can change during gameplay too, for example if you pick up an RPG you may move up a tier and if you fire it off and drop it you will move back down. For me it means I don't worry about weight so much anymore because taking a rifle and pistol almost always puts you in the medium tier anyway! Really don't like how sluggish the heavy tier feels so I still try to avoid that one. EDIT: That's bollocks, have tried some testing with a stopwatch, looks like it IS linear! (Sidenote, does anyone know how to do strikethrough text on the forum?)

I still mostly play Observer but now I take the FAL or G3A3 with a 1.5x, suppressor, foregrip, laser and extended mags. I like the extra reach that 7.62 gives you, as well as more reliable 2-hit kills when you are caught off guard and can't quite get the headshot :P

I always run light armour and carrier now, the same pistols as before, and of course the trusty gasmask!

If the Observers are taken I'll use the Advisor and try the same setup on the Mk17. Sometimes for a laugh I'll take the marksman and use the M82/M99 with extended mags, 4x ACOG and a laser for those sick CoD noscopes! I'll drop the armour to stay in the medium weight tier though.

Has anyone else switched up their gear as they play more?
