Partnership with German Squad Gaming [GSG]

As some of you know I have been in touch with the leader of GSG for a possible whitlist of all EBS squad players on their server.
They only give clan whitelists when a clan (or community) is a parter clan. EBS is considered to become a parter clan without any obligations. Of course GSG like it when we help with seeding and be active in their discord, but its not a must.

From what I've learnt while talking to the leader (Ray), they are a dedicated noobfriendly nontoxic server. All provocations or misbehaviour is handeled quickly and results in a kick. The admins were very active from what I saw. Not that EBS has many beginners, but I think we will enjoy playing on this server for a longer period of time and therefore its worth putting some effort into becoming a partner clan.

This is the text I received last night from Ray:
Hallo Allana,

wir haben in der Projektleitung entschieden, dass wir gern noch zwei weitere Partnerclans aufnehmen werden. Wie angesprochen durchlaufen die aber zunächst bei uns eine kleine Probephase von zwei Wochen. Die Zeit können wir nutzen, um uns gegenseitig kennenzulernen (auch von der Spielweise zB). Danach könnt ihr Rückmeldungen geben und wir beschreiben wie die Resonanz aus unserer Community war.

Je nach Aktivität würden wir dann das Ende der Probephase einläuten und euch Bescheid geben, damit wir uns austauschen können.
Bitte beachtet hierbei auch, dass wir in der Probephase darauf schauen, ob ihr auch hin und wieder unsere Community mitnehmt (zB Blueberries mitnehmen), im Discord kommuniziert und euch natürlich an unsere Regeln haltet. Als richtiger Partnerclan seid ihr ja dann auch in einer Vorbildsrolle.

Falls ihr also weiterhin Interesse daran habt (was uns mächtig freut), würde eure Probephase heute beginnen. Wir besprechen aktuell mit dem [13Inf] auch die Probephase (parallel), da die Interesse haben. Das nur zur Info, dass eure Probephasen sich dann ggf. überlappen.

Hey Allana
The leaders have decided that we are going to accept two more parter clans. As we already discussed, new possible parter clans go though a testing phase of two weeks. This time is meant for us the get to know each other ( not only personally but also in terms of game style). After this phase you can give us some feedback and we will ask within our comunity what impression you guys left.

Depending on your activity we will decide when the testing phase will end and then inform you about it so we can change notes. For us it's important to see that you sometimes play with members of our comunity and let them in your squad (this could also be blueberries) and comunicate in our discord. Of course you have to stick to our rules. As a true parter clan you are a role model.

If you are still interested (which would be a blast for us) your testing phase would start today. Richt now we are also talking to [13 Inf] to be a parter clan as they are equally intersted. This is just for your information because it's possible your testing phases would take place at the same time.

First of all thank you for your efforts!

This server sounds like a perfect match for the mentality that we try to establish in every game more or less successful.

I want to point out some rules from their discord, which could impact our regular squad behavoir:
- "Player & squad names must not have any reference to world wars/terrorism and must not conflict with the other rules."
-- speznas ex KGB, 101 Airborn, etc. as Squadnames could be problematic
- "Squads may only be closed from 6 players, except vehicle squads"
- "Armed vehicles (except helicopters) must be manned by at least 2 men"
-- No Oneman Humvee to place mines or Oneman Scoutcar

Good catch Fuchs and thanks for exploring this option for us Allana,

Another question would be that some/majority of our players are predominantly English speaking and with the server being a German one, would it be worth mentioning that to them. We've had no problems as randoms in the server but as partners there would be more expectations of the individuals.

Plus, and purely as the devils advocate here / its mentioned that there will be no obligation, the drama and effort required the last time we were in some sort of partnership sapped the fun right out of the game. If we can get some clear, defined "whats expected of you" such as will they expect contributions to a server, do they expect us to Admin the server, do they want us to seed regularly (that one is an interesting one as some people, myself included, am patchy when playing any game really).

It would probably be worth having a sit down with the GSG and see whats what

Thanks for reaching out for us to GSG Allana! I think GSG is good server but some things are kinda foggy in that message. I agree with Spriggs, we need to make things clear and know full details. But for know im positive about being partners with GSG.

I had a long talk with Ray where we talked about all the questions you wrote down. I hope i remember everything correctly...

Englisch / German: The server is about 80 % German, 20% English. When a SL speaks English, all SL are meant to speak English in comand chat. If a squad is named something like "german mic" ofc the language within the squad is German. I told Ray that we are mostly Englisch speaking and he said it wouldnt be a problem at all.

Drama: I remember the drama we had with our previous co-ownership of a server. I also mentioned that. Ray said, they are having the server since last November and worked from there with partners. So far, there haven't been any big arguments at all. Sometimes they dont all agree, but solve the matter in a good way. Of course that is not a promise that it will stay that way...

Expectations: We talked long about that. Ray confirmed more than once that they dont expect seeding, admin work or money. If people are willing to admin, they get some admin rights. There are three different stages of admins with different ways of influence. To "move up" you need to prove you are a good admin for i think 2 months. Only then more admin powers are possible. This is the same for all members and parter clan members.

Those rules are well picked. If we are going to play there regularly, all members need to be fully aware of the quite strict rules and at least read them fully once. The ones you picked are for sure the most important or special ones that need to be considered.

Awesome initiative @Allana - very kind of you to make this initiative as the more white lists the merrier for us as EBS. I see two challenges for us.

1. We help seed squad Scandi and play there on most weekday's in the evenings. If we start partnering elsewhere we might not be able to help Scandi and / for example we use to have whitelist on 3 servers but we lost RB whitelisting because simply didnt play enough there. Its hard if we spread ourselves too thinly across 3-4 servers to have a positive impact on them/ so we can mitigate this risk by making GSG our weekend server.
2. Language - I am cool with German but we do have quite a few English speaking players and when they play vehicle it can be tough in command chat as some SL's will just stay in German/ but credit to GSG they make more of an effort like how BOB was in 2019-2020 to communicate in English

Funnily enough I played on RB the other day and it was 80% ex Mumbles, RVN, SRG, FA, Spit the level of skill was too high for a public game to be relaxing and enjoyable.

I am all up for supporting your initiative as long as we get clarity on what is expected from EBS / I have to say I am impressed that NG/DSC/SG have now had a successful server and community for +12 months without any drama or toxic behaviour - that is a rarity in Squad with 1K members from 3 different countries.

GSG is top 3 of the German servers and from what I saw the last days popped in early afternoon when Scandi is seeding in the evening....
All concerns can also be discussed after the two weeks testing phase.

Question is - are you guys interested to test?

This is not a must. It's a possiblitly.
If you feel it's not worth the effort, we don't need to do it

I think we should try, be a part of another server. Obviously there is a slight language barrier but this has been talked about. As long as we give it a try and if it works, it works.
