I cracked 3000 hours this week.....feeling like playing other games for a while .....Warthunder, Acessto Corsa, World of Warship.....but squad is still a classic and I do love it but like with any game you need a break once in a while....

I know exactly what you mean @knightmorphed
Those perfect games exists, but they are very rare. It is one of the reasons why I like playing comp - the team is well organized and coms are working.
Todady we played a scrim against spit. It was so much fun. Good teamwork within in the squad and with the whole team. I dont get this satisfaction in pubs a lot. And i get more and more bored by pub games as they are lacking those things.

But I am glad you enjoyed the game after your break.

Yes and last night was a quick example of what happens to a game when you suddenly introduce over powered vehicles and weapons. We were playing the steel division mod version of Squad. And we got absolutely shafted trying to push Abandoned soviet airbase. This tiny attack helicopter in the sky made it impossible to push the flag. It killed infantry, vehicles and because it was so jerky in the sky no tow could hit it. It totally ruined the game and it suddenly made we realise how good the original game is without all these OP vehicles and weapons.

I saw a clip on Reddit with the little bird on Tallil for this mod. Just looks like segue and Shanghi battlefield bullshit tbh. 40-50 points he took in 2 mins. Shouldn't be a thing. Too much ammo and not enough AA.

so after 3644 hours in the game I stopped playing it a month ago. I went back to it once or twice and just couldn't get it going again. I see this happen with games but what an accomplishment for the game developers. I played this one game more than all other PC games combined since 2004 when I installed Steam. And I enjoyed every minute of it. Now what next? Need to find another new game. Got any recommendations?

Impossible to tip you, that's so personal and unpredictable.

However, if you're not against solo play, I can suggest you Cyberpunk 2077 as good mean to spend time on a good game, waiting for the enlightment that will bring you to the successor of Squad

thank you for recommendation Hairy....Might give it a try.

Funnily enough I took a 1-2 month break from squad. Forgot all about it, and then last few nights had some terrific games late at night when there was only 50-60 players online. The server and game play is so much better than when there is 100 players on a server. Many of the maps are not designed for so many players it is optimised at a smaller number. Last night I joined a german server where 4 EBS members were playing. I joined the game late but Biker and Furious racked up 69-0 in a Bradley....sick score but we still lost by 14 tickets. Then I took over commander role in the following game and we won with 225 tickets. All it needed was some leadership, clear communication and a basic strategy and we clapped the enemy. It was just crazy seeing Furious Baco and Appie in action. They single handily killed nearly 100 players - 2 man army. Furious got 32-1 and Appie 50-1 and I was on 9-0 to put that into perspective. But we did have a wicked time. Fun, relaxed, and kicking arse. As it says on Biker's tag....its time to kickass and chew bubble gum im all out of gum".....we really kicked some arse. This morning there will be at least 30 German squad players that will be walking to the toilet like they got shafted by Ron Jeremy. Those squad games will live in their memories forever....last game we won with 435 tickets it was nuts.
Anyway I am looking forward to playing again soon.....late at night with few players on that's the way to enjoy the game.

Did you ever play the single player of RDR2? If not, you could play that until you’ve completed it, then zoom 178 years into the future and play Cyberpunk 2077. Interestingly, the RPG Cyberpunk 2020 was released in 1988 which is exactly halfway between the two games. #uselesstrivianooneaskedfor
