Seen a video that made you chuckle, post it here
i didn't say girly, i said grown-up. big difference. i was talking about maturity of palate, not your masculinity. you have twisted and put a spin on what i said. though that video is rather funny indeed, and makes some good points.dominikx10 wrote:For my friend spawnsy:
it is worth taking the time to learn to appreciate more flavours in this world than just sweet. that was my point. it takes effort. i had to deliberately acquire the taste for wine in order to be able to enjoy sharing a bottle over a meal with friends and/or family. it's a sad thing to be the only person who doesn't drink wine. turning up to a nice dinner party with a four pack under your arm is not a look i aspire to. four is never going to be enough. let's be right. and turning up with a case of 20 is even more embarrasing. having to admit that they're all for you is even worse.
a case? really? we don't drink lager!
what? you lot will have had a bottle of wine each by the end of the night, so why not? don't pretend you're not pissheads too!
ah, yes, but we're classy pissheads, you pleb!

I've faced this down all my life. I have a very sweet palette, all beer and most wines are terribly bitter/sour and impossible to drink. I also can't eat stuff like olives because they taste terrible. Recently I found if I persevered, I can drink a good Merlot, but it has to be £20 a bottle stuff and the tannin gives me a massive hangover that I just don't get from vodka. I also found a lovely, lovely cider that looks like a rose wine. The result? what's that girly drink you've got? Luckily it's in a big glass bottle so I can just smash it over the head of whichever dumb ass says it. It becomes quite manly at that point

Chill, I just put video for the laughs, as it's connected to our discussion. Concerning else - I agree; people do acquire palate; but personally for me, it's a bother. *opens somersby*spawnsy wrote:i didn't say girly, i said grown-up. big difference. i was talking about maturity of palate, not your masculinity. you have twisted and put a spin on what i said. though that video is rather funny indeed, and makes some good points.dominikx10 wrote:For my friend spawnsy:
