The cam chain (or whatever it is called) yanked and caused serious harm to the engine and other parts resulting in a repair of approx. 6000 Euros which is around 4400 GBP and I already had to pay almost 300 GBP just to estimate the costs . Fricking car.... I just bought a roof rack for my Kayak :Wall:

Farewell!

Germany's finest engineering. How old is it and have you had it serviced when it should have been? If it's less than five years old I would be phoning BMW customer services and asking for goodwill on the repairs.

Unfortunately (for me) this problem was (and is) known by BMW for the exact type of model that I have. It is known that this can happen betweeen 60.000 KM - 80.000 KM and therefore they had a product recall back in 2008 to fix this. Well, I had this car since 2010 and until now I had absolutely no clue about this problem or product recall and the guy who owned the car at the time of the product recall wasn't aware of it or ignored it or whatever. And the car is almost 10 years old now.... shit happens. After it happened I found lots of news about that problem and people complaining. So I just learned the hard way that you should check things like that after buying a new (used) car :) Apart from this major failure I had absolutely not any problem with this car in almost 6 years. Just had to replace the brake discs and pads at some point and thats it.

Yo! I will be back for some gaming soon ;) Have some important exams at the end of this month and then I can give it a go. I even have this Insurgency that you folks are playing but I just played it about 5x so far... maybe I should give it a try with you guys :)

That lovely moment when you find out that £7k of your money has gone missing into the banking ether! Payment was swift processed by the bank out here on the 25th & it should have turned up in my bank within 3-5 days.

When questioned about it, the finance people here responded 'it's left our account so it's not our problem anymore'. After a major row with their manager, they are now in touch with the bank trying to trace where the fuck the money is! Minge-baskets!!
