Don't start me off on pole erection units....cables should be underground, if it wasn't for local council's refusing to let us dig...grrrr

Never mind, blame the service providers (not just BT) for not being able to provide a service because they are not able to supply the infrastructure required due to (enter various reasons) :(

Been awhile alright @Age.

Call in regularly to keep an eye :-)

Havent gamed in a while, got into running marathons, half marathons and triathlons so all my spare cash goes on that :-)

Bet you wouldn't recognise me if you seen me!

Missing it though, how I wish I had a nice big highly spec'd gaming PC....

Anyways back to the topic, @Stujb you have to accept though that councils or no councils, there are places in the UK that are so rural that it is not cost effective to run the cables underground, I remember the poles going in!

Mind you the water pipe is underground, and is terminated 100 meters past my parents property :-)

I met a guy who served in the 8th army in north Africa, he returned to work for the post office driving around Glasgow until he retired testing telegraph poles until he retired in the 1980s, he loved it.

Same guy carried one memento in his wallet till the day he died. After the war he was in Rome and was invited to an audience with Pope Piux Xii.

As he was leaving he was handed a little piece of paper with his name on it saying that he met the pope and the date of the visit.

Ah memories - probably not the right tread :-)

Trying to organise a major shutdown in work tomorrow and Saturday when the night before consisted of less than 90 minutes sleep and a very high fever that broke about 4am this morning.

Only plus side is that it's now Ramadan so finding someone asleep at there desk is considered par for the course though not usually on the first day!

Think it's going to be one of those months......

Bearing in mind we've averaged just over 700 help desk tickets a month for the past 7 months, we are 3 working days into the month and have had 200 tickets raised already 😲

After a fucking shitty evening last night dealing with network config and a bastard of a day trying to get site-to-site vpn working today, I wanted to come home, crack a bottle or a can, munch on a pizza and watch some tv.....

My kodi box had other ideas as the SD card failed!

I'm now in the painful process of rebuilding and re-adding my libraries (1.4Tb of movies and music) while getting pissed!
