It's Google powered so a lot more intelligent. I've got both, Google Home is far superior.

Ah and I suppose Google Home (not the mini) is just a better speaker?

Yeah. It's a smart speaker. Basically the Mini is like the Amazon Echo Dot and the Home is like the Echo.

The latest Amazon Echo devices aren't meant to be as good anyway, according to reviews.

Till Black Friday, used to work at Currys. They do it early to avoid all the taser wielding maniacs on the actual day

It's not just Currys it turns out. Google and other places are also doing the discount. Makes sense it's til Black Friday as that's next week.

Having both i say echos are better for music, the echo dot has a 3.5mm jack making it great to connect to a larger speaker for music playback.
The mini requires a bluetooth connection.
Google is better at answering general trivia etc but both are very capable at controlling your smart home

Google understands better though HG. In my experience anyway.

Also shortcuts are ace. I can say "Ok Google, Mellow" and it plays my mellow playlist on Spotify. You can stream audio via chromecast and mine is plugged into my Amp so no drama.
