that would be a wonderful and noble undertaking. i can't imagine reaching a level of competency whereby i could read in a foreign language. i wish you patience and satisfaction should you choose to undertake it.

Here's are few more for you.
Battlefield Earth, yes I know it's by L Ron Hubbard, but it was written before the scientology shit, good pulp fiction none the less.
The Xanth series by Piers Anthony. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xanth
Greg Bear almost anything by this author.
Jack Vance, as above awesome stuff.
Jerry Pournelle, all of his plus his collaboration with Larry Niven
and anything by Larry Niven.
David Gemmell - Drenai Series
Larry Niven is fucking lit 🔥
Im a Sci-Fi addict :)
What I read lately that deserves a mention?:
The "Culture" series - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Culture
The Vorkosigan Saga - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vorkosigan_Saga
The Hechee Saga - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heechee - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gateway_(novel)
La Espada de Fuego [Javier Negrete] - Sadly, this one is not translated to english, if you can read in spanish, is one of the best mixes between Sci-Fi and fantasy I did read ever, except for...:
The Black Tower - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dark_Tower_(series) <------ Don't watch the movie, read the fucking boooks! :D

Of course, I would always recommend some good ol' Isaac Asimov, Roger MacBride Allen, Arthur C. Clarke! :D (Read the other Space Odissey books, they explain all that happened after the movie) and some more I don't remember now ^^

Just started reading 'Leviathan Wakes' - James S.A. Corey. These are the books that the phenomenal Netflix series 'The Expanse' are based on.

Interestingly it's actually two people who wrote the books, they apparently do a chapter each. So far, the books are very good and in keeping with the series, though there are some differences.

Ive read City Infernal by Edward Lee and it’s pretty good. Having my obligatory one book break before the next instalment.

I loved the Expanse. Awesome series. Even the characters are different and engaging.

For reading I have just finished Robin Hobbs 'Fools Assassin'. 1st book of the second trilogy about FitzChivalry and the Fool. I love Robin Hobbs, just wonderful books that place you in the world.

If you like sci-fi, check out William Gibson (Mona Lisa Overdrive, Burning Chrome, Count Zero). He pretty much invented Cyberpunk and almost before the internet was invented, wrote about hackers jacking into computers via neural links. Cool stuff.
