I didn't realise just how much like me my son was until we did a library trip while I was back in the UK and he came staggering to the counter with a huge armful of books from the young adults and science shelves (he's 11 btw) & had to head back to the library less than 14 days later to get fresh books!
He met his school reading target for the whole holidays within the 1st week and has had to staple extra sheets into his reading record! Little bugger takes it all in as well. Ask him about one of the story books a week after he's read it and he can give you all the details. The science books, he writes any questions down he has and either tries to Google them or saves them up for his science teacher at school.

Now he's got his coloured glasses to help with his dislexia, there is no stopping him reading.
He loves the discovery channels on TV, mythbusters, how it's made & the science programs. If there is nothing interesting on, in an evening, then he'll go to bed early, put the radio on (radio 2 or classic FM????) or a cd (he loves the goon shows) and start reading. You go up a few hours later, and he's still buried in a book.

hey all,

on monday i startet to read The Strain
i thought it was very cheap, so bought the whole trillogy for under 4 Euros and it is over 1300 pages long.

after finishing the first book last night ist quite ok to me.
it feels like a melting of Bram Stoker and Steven King.
but i hope that it´ll stay more on the Steven King site in the next 2 books, and doesen´t turn into a kinda splatter Video game!!

with kind regards
