We had a lot of fun with COD4 and World at War back in the day. Until they ruined it with no servers and rubbish gameplay mechanics.

my machine was never good enough to run cod5 waw properly, so i couldn't see the shinyness of it. i loved the single player, and went through it many times, but really never could understand what all the fuss was about with the multiplayer.

Played last night and was genuinely surprised how good it is. Just like the old days of COD4 and World at War. Classic COD. Really fucking good.

I mean. It's still very twitchy and fast as hell but it works really well and I enjoyed every moment. The war mode, with objectives like protecting a tank or building a bridge are superb.

It's graphically impressive. Plenty of gun variety. Pretty bug free (from what I saw) and it seriously made me want to pre order. Betas rarely do that. This one is great. If you used to enjoy call of duty, I'd highly recommend giving it a go.

I think it Feels like mw2. And that's not good. Plus, really Laggy for me. P2p gaming is not the future.

It's modern warfare with a ww2 palette, and a few extra features.

It's 2k17 and since the introduction of match making in mw2 ppl have been asking to bring back dedicated servers to cod... Why can't they not do that? P2p sucks cause you're so reliable on the hosts Internet connection. Not to speak about lag compensation and hit detection. No the 6 some hours I've put in this will probably be the only hours.

The old complaint persists. Many members agreed between themselves to boycott the cod franchise until they started to make the game for pc once more, with dedicated servers. I was one of those. Nobody else remembers, but I do. Fuck cod. It's a wet fish with flashing lights. A child's shiny toy made of cheap brittle plastic. It's console crap for consumers, and little else. BF feels the same to me now too. Console gamey. Arcade'ish'.

Played for ten mins then uninstalled.

First thing I noticed was the store button. No bloody exit game button! But hey, you can buy shit.... Right this way!

Sadly the majority of publishers cater for the kids and consoles.

Battalion 1944 looks promising though.
