Burnout Paradise: Remastered

Post by rattyocaster » Sun Mar 18, 2018 11:44 am

10 Years after the release of Burnout Paradise, EA have decided to revamp the game and release it on current gen consoles. I've been playing it on the PS4 and it's the same as the original only with better graphics, which should come as no surprise. I know that most of you are primarily PC gamers (as am I) so if you haven't played the game yet, you really should give it a go, especially since it's very cheap on PC. The remaster does come with all the additional content which includes a whole island not available on the PC version and better graphics, however later this year there is going to be a PC version of the remaster so if you really do like the look of it and want the real definitive experience, you probably want to wait for that, but it is a game EVERYONE should at least experience, even if it's the "old" version as gameplay wise, everything is still there, even the multiplayer is still fairly populated even if trying to complete the 70 or so 8 player freeburn challenges might be an exercise in futility these days.
In short, Burnout Paradise is an open world "racing" game. Races don't have a course to follow, you are given an end point and have to battle your own way there across the city. There are other events such as stunt run where you have to do stunts to get points to beat the event and there is Road Rage where you have to destroy as many fellow racers as possible within the time limit. Then of course there is the Multiplayer which has all of that AND Freeburn challenges where everyone on the server has to do a specific task which is great for building some teamwork even with complete strangers and actually introduced me to a friend of mine from Norway who I still keep in touch with 10 years later.
IMO Burnout Paradise is one of, if not THE best arcade racing game. If any of you has the PS4 version of the game (or after looking it up decides to do so), feel free to add me (Rattyocaster) on PSN and maybe we can do some freeburn challenges later!

I have played the Burnout games in the past they were quite enjoyable, this particular one ive still got the disc and got on Origin it wasn't bad in fairness i remember having some control issues with my keyboard as it was clear the PC release was an afterthought but even the original had gfx that were above average at the time so remastered should look nice. I got 'the Crew' bundled with a gfx card once that was overated but i've yet to find a driving game that beats Hot Pursuit. They should let owners of original have this free like they have done with the newly remastered Serious Sams.

That would have been nice, but EA was the publisher, so that wasn't going to happen sadly
