From what I remember of cornwall (though it was 18 years ago now), that applied to MOST of the locals

Dunno what the council are up to with broadband, I can only get a 2mb connection here and it's a shitty one, about 350kbps when it decides to work properly. I think the broadband trials are in Portreath, Newlyn East and somewhere else where there are sod all people as it makes it easier for them. Starting to get really pissed off with my connection, I downloaded Test Drive Unlimited 2 (poo, TDU was better) and that was 15gb. It took 3 nights as it kept cutting out overnight. @Foobies is right about Virgin, you can get it in a few places around here, but the packages they let you have are really basic and it's in places you don't want to be (Camborne/Redruth). I'm with talktalk and they're crap, they were really good, then I extended my contract and the connection keeps breaking up now. My brother's place is next door to mine (family land to build on) and he get 750kbps via his BT 2mb connection.

I don't have any extra fingers so Duelling Banjos is a bit tricky. Had it as a ringtone at one point though.

You say that, but as far as im aware virgin aren't laying any new cable. And haven't ever done. The infrastructure is that which they inheritated from ntl when they bought them out. Their increased speeds are from hardware updates alone. Cornwall will be forgotten as per.
