Go for the GTX 1050 Ti mate, it's cheap and if you get the EVGA one, low profile with low power consumption, I can run BF1 on Ultra with it if I choose.

I'm using the GTX 1050, not even the Ti version and it's great. I have the basic 2GB model and it has no issue running PUBG on decent settings, I upgraded from a 650Ti and the difference is incredible, if you can afford it Warlock, then do it!

i'll echo that sentiment.
it's not worth spending on a lesser card. save up for the real deal mate, it'll be well worth it, and it will last you [keep you happier] for much longer.

Personally i'd either look into trying to get a 1060, or see what 9 series cards you may be able to get. See what a 960 or 970 go for, both should be better than a 1050.

Whatever you buy make sure your motherboard supports PCIe 3.0

It does make quite a big difference. May need a new MB to get the best performance.

Best buy 1050ti for £149.99: - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Colorful-NVI ... SwLgNaTyGy

1050ti - DX 11 vs DX 12: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fz3BWcPYA78

Your GFX vs 1050ti: http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nv ... 3649vs2161

Take a look here: to see futuremark's score for 7870

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Colorful-NVI ... SwLgNaTyGy

(6220)

and here for 1050ti

https://www.futuremark.com/hardware/gpu ... +Ti/review

(7700)

I do not think you are getting a sufficiently better card compared to what you have already for the amount you are willing to spend.

Check this link for prices for a 1060 - 6GB

https://www.scan.co.uk/shop/computer-ha ... x-1060-6gb

They start from around £280 & you may find a deal on Ebay (make sure its 1060-6GB & not the 3GB version!).

Futuremark score for 1060 - Gb: https://www.futuremark.com/hardware/gpu ... 6GB/review

(12970)

You can see from these figures its almost twice as good as your 7870. Ultimately the choice is yours, personally I would save & wait a few months. Just because you are using an older card at the moment, doesn't mean you have to change it, it does still work & you are able to game on it. If it were broken I'd say go for 1050Ti, but its working, you have time to decide.

The freedom of choice is the only true freedom you have left in this world.
