Re: New PC
Oh right, OEM build. Well as for the builder, my advice is to stay well away from Scan; I have had two builds from them (a build and a rebuild), both of which were shoddy. Overclockers are a smaller company, but better by most accounts and their customer service has been fantastic; I've bought most of my parts from them since my fallout with Scan. Haven't seen their builds up close though, so no idea what they're like with their cable routing etc. Hoping they'll be at EGX this year.
For your budget maybe the six-core AMD Ryzen 1600 model would be a better bet than an Intel i5, or maybe AMD's 8-core 1700 if you want to push your budget out a bit. Games are now being optimised for higher core counts because AMD have basically thrown a wobbly into the CPU market in the past couple of months, completely destroying the four-cores-is-enough mentality. Don't buy a four-core; you will regret it later on, like me with my new Intel i7 which is already out of date!
GTX 1060 6GB would be a decent card for a £1k box, (it's actually the best FPS-to-£ card going), alternative is one of AMD's Vega cards, but nobody knows when those are finally being released. All we know is Apple's iMac Pro is being released in December 2017, and that's the first computer with Vega to be detailed. Next Nvidia cards (Volta architecture) due out early 2018 according to rumours.

Re: New PC
I've heard that about Scan, never used them though. I've used Novatech many times in the past, good service and good customer support.

Re: New PC
If a remember Ohso had problems with Overclockers with his last build. Plus i think you areover thinking the price there panda.
Re: New PC
I've seen a few Ryzen 5 1600 / GTX 1060 builds for about a thousand dollars / pounds. Finding an OEM builder who builds well though is seemingly a challenge. What happened with Overclockers?
Re: New PC
Just looked at their website - pretty good. Haven't come across them before. Their trustpilot reviews seem to back them up. Unlike Scan's reviews, to which I'm shortly going to make an addition

Re: New PC
Got Spawnsy's PC from Novatech I think. Still going strong. Prefer building my own normally. It's fun and rewarding.
