Our problem is that the last major forum software update breaks all the mods and they need to be tested one by one to work out what works and what doesn't under the new version

Don't know who I hate more, the software Devs for their shitty, buggy code or the bloody hackers who find the flaws that the devs then have to fix & break something else in the process!!!!!!!!!?

One of the things I do is I run about 20 wordpress sites and that is the story of my life.

Can we loose the mods and update the theme to something a bit less 1990s :)

This kind of comment annoys me. Sure, let me spend all my time making the forum look pretty to your requirements rather than playing or spending time with my family.

Sorry Age if it annoys you. It shouldn't.

IMHO the forum looks shite-edited as thats a bit strong... a bit rustic and nineties, and it was a pain in the ass to sign up for. To some this might not be important.

Art and Beauty to me is everything.

Rading the comments above it seems out of date and in desperate need of a review to see if you can update it without breaking the mods you have,

This is the constant problem all across the internet not just here, but its a false economy as leave it long enough it will break and become an even bigger pain in the ass.

I will happily offer my help if you would take it as the web and the internet is part of my bread and butter, and I would make it look pretty and work well :)

Enough now, the topic of this thread was about a friend of McBonus and Tedsville trying to join up and not about the look of the fecking forum.

It's a sore point taran mate. I've never liked the server banner, and think the board is messy and uninviting. But the banner was designed by a good mate of Age, and he's sentimental. Trimming down the board sounds great, but how, and what do you trim? Hiding sub-forums just makes things hard to find. I'll leave it to age. If he wants your help.
