Potential new member having trouble with the forum

Post by McB0NUS » Sat Jan 14, 2017 11:05 pm

Hi Guys

A friend of mine is having trouble signing up on the registration page. Stating his user name is locked out. He did try and answer the question on there three times and it didn't like the answer (can we make this easier for otherss to join?) UN: rattyocaster

Could one of the forum gods help me out here?

Must admit when I signed up it was almost impossible, had to write to admins several times..

Making it easier can only be a good thing,

It's difficult to stop bots spamming us. Unfortunately. I need to do something about it...

What's the person's name.

P. S. It's really not that hard.

add a google captcha to the registration thats sorts the bots out, especially the latest captcha. BB forums support this

DD made some changes a while back, and going on the feedback i've been getting it is simple, but the forum has a fit for unknown reasons and won't accept the answers.

I thought I had flipped it to captcha a while back. Losing my mind!

We need to update the forum but in such a way, we don't break the mods we have running. I'm currently trying to id & test all the mods on an up-to-date forum install in my lab. It's not going smoothly ATM!

I've changed the authentication settings to captcha. Tell him to try again.
