Mumble use

Post by taran » Fri Aug 12, 2016 6:44 pm

Hi

Have installed Mumble, tested it and seems to work, have a few noob questions..

Do you set up mumble so that the push to talk key is different to Insurgencies push to talk key? So are you repeating your mumble instructions to the squad in both?

I see the main server, and I see #tough which is says is gbh server one, so if playing on that server connect to that one with a different pw, if on abh server which do you connect to?

thanks

Please do setup your PTT keys different otherwise you echo

The two insurgency sub-channels relate to server 1 and server 2. The idea is that you join the mumble channel to match the server you are on, no different passwords required. It doesn't always happen like that so sometimes you may get moved around if Spawnsy or Me are on.

The only time you may see a password in the insurgency mumble channels is if we are having a closed members only session or i've locked the server to keep the pubbies out while I do some testing. If you ever open insurgency and see the padlock against one of our servers, then look in the mumble channel comments for the password though it's often something pork products related if I've set it!

thx both

I followed the guide here on the forum

found out if you unclick let applications have exclusive rights in Windows recording properties it helps

I also think that mumble is far more intelligent the way it optimises volume than insurgency

so mumble always sounds fine but in game it's less so advanced and hit or miss
if your mic is very close its ok

when mumble isn't on its fine so mumble is taking audio priority

thx again

i thought it was what gives you 3d sound. so i that i might discern the direction of movement detected. is that not correct then bill?
either way, if i don't know, but everything works fine, then i'll leave it working.
maybe you're right about the settings having to tally. could be your mic. dunno.
if nothing makes a difference then we'll have another look soon.
keep us informed.

Spawns Positional Audio is a feature of Mumble that places the people talking to you in a certain position relative to your own depending on their actual position in the game you are playing. This way you can hear the person like his actual avatar in-game would be talking to you.
